Overarching Goal
Students will engage in a research and/or clinical experience under the mentorship of a UIC Faculty member, practicing independence, self-advocacy, and written & oral communication.

Final Product Requirements
- 5-10 page paper AND 15 minute oral presentation
- 4-5 page paper 5-10 minute presentation (AHS only)

Objectives (reference the PBL toolbox to see tools students have used in the past)
1) Demonstrate the significance of a problem
2) Formulate a focused, relevant question with a testable relationship between variables.
----Students could complete EITHER Objective 3 OR 4----
3) Design primary research tools that are reliable and aligned (survey, asset map, interview, or observational study)
4) Find and select secondary research tools that are reliable and aligned (web and scholarly journal sources)
5) Compile & analyze data using quantitative and qualitative measures.
6) Construct an evidence-based conclusion that is aligned to the research question.
7) Generate evidence-based recommendations for future research or proposed interventions.
8) Write a research paper that supports a conclusion with evidence and appropriately cited sources.
9) Orally present research in a professional way to an audience of colleagues and stakeholders.
